Our firmly established and highly regarded client requires a VP of Engineering to be based in London. This is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate.

VP of Engineering requirements:

  • Manage and scale the existing engineering team of 10 top-performing engineers, fostering a learning environment

  • Oversee product roadmap execution, from initial scoping and estimations to key development milestones

  • Design the structure of the engineering organisation for each stage of growth

  • Oversee hiring and onboarding of new team members, focusing on quality over quantity

  • Act as the voice of engineering across the company, ensuring alignment with business goals and adherence to best practices

  • Set the technical vision, working closely with the team on technical strategy

  • Collaborate with the leadership team, including the CEO and Head of Finance

  • Partner with the Product Lead and Customer Lead to understand customer usage and needs

  • 4+ years of experience managing a high-performing engineering team, with proven coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills (B2B SaaS)

  • Experience in building and scaling exceptional engineering teams, including hiring and onboarding

  • Background as an engineering leader in high-calibre environments, preferably in tech start-ups or scale-ups

  • Proven track record as a senior individual contributor, with experience in building full-stack web applications using TypeScript and AWS

  • Experience in designing and implementing broad, complex, and secure systems that scale to tens of thousands of users

  • Ability to thrive in high-intensity environments, demonstrating accountability, steady leadership, and instilling confidence in teams and customers

  • Ambitious and committed to a successful career, willing to work hard and lead by example

  • Product-minded and business-minded, capable of linking engineering outcomes to business goals
