We are seeking an experienced or aspiring KS2 Teacher with English/Literacy Lead responsibility for a school in Shard End. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is ready to take on or further develop subject leadership in English, driving improvements in reading, writing, and whole-school literacy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a KS2 class and ensure high standards of progress and attainment
  • Lead English/Literacy across KS2 or whole school
  • Develop and implement effective English curriculum plans
  • Monitor pupil progress and drive targeted interventions
  • Support and coach staff to improve English teaching and outcomes
  • Promote reading for pleasure and writing across the curriculum
  • Work closely with SLT on whole-school improvement priorities

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven KS2 teaching experience
  • Strong understanding of the KS2 English curriculum
  • Experience in or readiness for subject leadership (English/Literacy)
  • Strong classroom management and pupil progress focus
  • Passion for raising literacy standards
