We are seeking an experienced or aspiring KS2 Teacher with English/Literacy Lead responsibility for a school in Shard End. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is ready to take on or further develop subject leadership in English, driving improvements in reading, writing, and whole-school literacy outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a KS2 class and ensure high standards of progress and attainment
- Lead English/Literacy across KS2 or whole school
- Develop and implement effective English curriculum plans
- Monitor pupil progress and drive targeted interventions
- Support and coach staff to improve English teaching and outcomes
- Promote reading for pleasure and writing across the curriculum
- Work closely with SLT on whole-school improvement priorities
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven KS2 teaching experience
- Strong understanding of the KS2 English curriculum
- Experience in or readiness for subject leadership (English/Literacy)
- Strong classroom management and pupil progress focus
- Passion for raising literacy standards
