Certus Education is seeking an experienced, strategic Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in our next phase of growth. This is a senior, outward-facing role for someone who understands education recruitment inside out and is motivated by building meaningful, long-term partnerships rather than chasing short-term wins.
You will be responsible for expanding our reach both regionally and nationally, developing new client relationships across Local Authority schools, Multi-Academy Trusts, and Alternative Provision, while protecting and strengthening the reputation we have built for quality, trust and reliability. This role is ideal for a proven education recruitment BDM who wants autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of a growing, teacher-led business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic growth of Certus Education across new regions and sectors
- Identify, engage and secure new partnerships with LEA schools, MATs and AP providers
- Build long-term relationships with senior decision-makers including Headteachers, CEOs, SEND leads and commissioners
- Represent Certus Education as a trusted, credible partner rather than a transactional supplier
- Work closely with internal recruitment and compliance teams to ensure delivery matches promises
- Contribute to wider business strategy, market positioning and service development
- Maintain a strong understanding of local authority frameworks, compliance expectations and market trends
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager within education recruitment
- Demonstrable success in winning and developing education clients at scale
- Strong knowledge of the UK education landscape, including supply, SEND and alternative provision
- Values-driven approach aligned with delivering high-quality outcomes for schools and pupils
- Commercially astute, strategic thinker with excellent relationship-building skills
