A welcoming and supportive primary school in the CV7 area is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their ARP provision supporting pupils with complex SEND needs. The school would be happy for the successful candidate to start before September where possible. This role would suit somebody who is passionate about working within specialist SEND environments and has experience supporting children working at an EYFS level, including pupils with autism, communication difficulties and complex learning needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication and build confidence within a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils within a specialist ARP provision
- Working with children with complex SEND needs
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Supporting pupils working at EYFS/developmental level
- Encouraging communication, engagement and independence
- Supporting sensory needs and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff
The School Is Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with complex SEND needs
- Experience within EYFS, SEN or specialist settings
- Knowledge of autism, communication needs and sensory strategies
- Calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Experience using Makaton or PECS would be beneficial
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
