About the Role:
As a trainer at NICEIC/Certsure, you will deliver high-quality training to professionals, supporting them in developing their knowledge and skills in specialist subject areas. You will assess candidates to ensure they meet the highest industry standards, across a variety of awarding body certificated programs (e.g., City & Guilds, EAL), as well as our tailored training courses, designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training across a range of electrical disciplines, including general installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and low-carbon technologies like solar PV, EV installations, and energy storage.
- Use your industry experience to support the development of relevant, engaging, and up-to-date training content.
- Encourage a culture of curiosity and continuous professional development, motivating learners to stay current with industry advancements.
- Be courageous in introducing new teaching methods and innovative approaches to training.
- Demonstrate a commitment to supporting professionals in refining their skills and meeting high industry and regulatory standards.
- Ensure the safe maintenance and operation of equipment and training rigs used in courses, in compliance with health and safety regulations and company requirements.
- Assess learners’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and help electricians achieve their continuing professional development (CPD) goals.
- Support the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process to ensure the business meets the requirements of our Awarding Organisations.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Electrician, NVQ Level 3, recognised Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Significant industry experience, with expert knowledge in solar PV, energy storage, and EV charging installations.
- A strong understanding of current electrical regulations, relevant industry standards and guidance.
- Teaching and assessment qualifications (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, Assessor Award, etc.).
- Experience in delivering training or mentoring.
- Excellent ability to transfer your knowledge and technical skills effectively to others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire professionals.
- A commitment to continuous personal development and a willingness to undertake further training and qualifications if necessary.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience assessing a learner's vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding in the workplace.
- Experience preparing candidates and/or administering End-Point Assessments (EPA).
