About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our well established and supportive Specialist Support Team to make a real difference to the lives of people we support. You’ll work closely with eleven individuals in their own homes, supporting them to have fulfilling lives. This role is ideal for a passionate PBS practitioner who values the chance to have a long-term impact by working with colleagues to develop their practice over time. There will be opportunities for development in specific areas of interest such as active support and trauma informed practice. This role is especially suited to those working towards their UKSBA competencies.
We are looking for an experienced PBS Practitioner who can deliver compassionate, evidence-based support. If you are committed to improving quality of life and building skills we’d love to hear from you.
Duties will include:
- Conducting functional behaviour assessments and analysing data to develop and implement PBS strategies
- Supporting individuals at risk of exclusion or hospital admission through tailored support
- Ensuring all assessments are person centred and accurately reflect risks and needs
- Helping to deliver systems which monitor progress and outcomes
- Delivering training and coaching to build PBS capacity within a team
- Working in partnership with individuals, families and professionals
About you
To be a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at Certitude, the following are essential:
- Hold a relevant undergraduate, or post graduate qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Behaviour Analysis, Autism, Learning Disability or Psychology.
- An understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism including those with complex health needs, additional mental health needs and complex support needs
- Experience of using functional behaviour assessments and developing PBS strategies
- Experience of using data analysis to design and develop behaviour support plans, strategies and monitoring improvements in quality of life in collaboration with support teams and families
- Experience of developing strong relationships with individuals, and families built on trust and respect.
