Hourly Rate: £12.71 per hour Contract Type: Bank Location: Essex - Braintree, Chelmsford, Epping Forest, Colchester, Thurrock About the role The role of a Bank Support Worker is to enable the people we support to manage aspects of their daily life. Support will include money management, attending appointments and facilitating meetings in order to maximise the individual’s independence and enable them to be part of their communities. Duties will include: - Build great relationships with the people we support and the people important in their lives. - Support people to spend their time and money in ways that give them pleasure and meaning with people they want to have time with, in ways that enable them to contribute and feel valued, be a part of communities that matter to them and help them grow and develop. - Ensure people are supported in everyday tasks in a respectful way that meets their individual needs and preferences and enables them to do as much as possible themselves and gives them as much choice, control and involvement as possible. - Balance creating opportunities for people to try new things and make choices for themselves with the need to ensure people are safe and risks are well managed. About you To be a Bank Support Worker at Certitude, the following are essential: - Experience of supporting a family member, friend, elderly person, or someone with a learning disability or mental ill health who required practical and/or emotional assistance. - Ability to use information technology (including a computer) to complete appropriate documentation in required formats and compile detailed written reports to a good standard. - Ability to make and maintain great relationships with others and someone who can help others make contacts and friendships. - Able to motivate others and build their confidence to try new things, meet new people, and organise others to get things achieved. - Ability to work on your own initiative and also be a great team player. - Be receptive and demonstrate a commitment to relevant training.  About the Organisation We have a passion for life and make it our mission to support people in living the life they desire, whatever that may be.
