About the role:

As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs within their own homes or a day opportunities setting. The role focuses on enabling people to engage in meaningful activities, develop skills and participate fully in their community. You will also provide personalised support with meals, personal care, communication and wellbeing — always promoting dignity, choice, and independence.

Duties will include:

  • Making a difference in the lives of those you support
  • Help to use a range of recovery-oriented and person-centred planning tools
  • Ensure all plans and records relating to the people we support are accurate and up to date
  • Support with everyday tasks to maximise the individual’s independence
  • Work in a consistent and positive way with local managers and other team members to ensure people get a great service
  • Undertake various levels of personal care and manual handling

About you:

To be a Support Worker at Certitude, it is essential that you have experience for this role in:

  • Supporting people who may challenge (verbally, physically), particularly people on the autistic spectrum
  • Confidence in planning or facilitating activities
  • Keeping calm and confident in challenging situations
  • Experience in Positive Behaviour Support
  • Experience of enabling people with a learning disability/autism to take positive risks in their lives
  • Possess a manual driving licence and be able to drive a 7-seater van
  • Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda

You will be given training, development and coaching to help you feel confident in providing great support and to help you advance in your career.
