Main purpose of Job: To assist in the production and assembly of lifting equipment and wire rope products, gaining practical experience across a range of mechanical splicing and rope termination processes. This role is equally ideal for individuals with or without lifting equipment experience; full training can be provided for anyone looking to build a career in a hands‑on manufacturing environment, a mechanical background would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly & Production of Wire Rope Equipment
  • Turnback Eye Splicer: Convert bulk steel wire rope (SWR) into finished assemblies using turn‑back eye techniques, as per work order instructions.
  • MCC Operator: Measure, cut, and coil SWR accurately to prepare rope for further processing.
  • Resin Socketer: Terminate wire rope ends by fitting sockets using resin in line with quality and safety standards.
  • Flemish Eye Splicer: Prepare and apply Flemish eye terminations as specified in work orders.

General Workshop Duties

  • Safely operate workshop machinery and manual handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working area.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and movement of materials, including forklift use.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures.

Training & Development

  • Full training provided on mechanical splicing techniques, rope handling, and workshop safety.
  • Forklift licence (B1/B2) training will be provided if not already held.
  • Progression to qualified Multi‑skilled Wire Rope Mechanical Splicer upon successful training and performance programme.
