A Senior ICT Network Engineer is required to develop, implement and maintain the clients critical network infrastructure which provides a 24/7 technical service across all areas. This role is essential in ensuring a secure, resilient, and high-performing technical environment that supports emergency operations 24/7. You will develop and support the maintenance of a robust, efficient, effective and secure converged network infrastructure by developing standardised methodologies and frameworks for technical delivery. Also to support day to day operations as well as project led activity.

Essential Skills & Experience required:

  • Degree qualified or other significant ICT related qualification (Cisco CCNA or equivalent); or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities in networking.
  • Must have experience of network architecture, installation and managing on premise network infrastructure.
  • Experience of installation and managing on-premise layer 2 and 3 switches and router infrastructure.
  • Experience of network security hardware and software inclusive of firewalls, network intrusion and detection systems.
  • Strong network analysis and 2nd up to 3rd line troubleshooting skills.
  • Must demonstrate ICT experience commensurate with the demands of managing a team of Network Engineers.
  • Proven experience of managing day-to-day network operations in line with the functions and roles of IT Service Management.
  • Network capacity planning across LAN / WLAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / MPLS / SD-Access and Data Centre network technologies.
  • Good experience of working with, and leading technological change at an infrastructure level.
  • Proven experience in managing network operations of enterprise-scale architecture and environments.
  • Routing and switching platforms (Cisco).
  • Practical experience with major routing protocols, VLANS and VRF as well as multi context Cisco firewalls and load balancing technologies.
  • Experience of high availability services.

Please Note: This role is subject to participation of an On-Call Rota when needed, for which an additional payment will be made.
