Technical Business Analyst (Automation Programme)

Duration: 7-8 Months

Location: Warwickshire & remote (hybrid role)

Rate: Β£500 per day

Project Overview:

A Technical Business Analyst is required for our public sector client who possesses previous experience of Blue Prism RPA, as you will be working on a specific project which is to enhance the clients Automation/RPA programme.

As the Technical Business Analyst you will be required to scope out opportunities for further automation opportunities within the business, produce associated design and benefits information and also support with testing as required. As the Technical Business Analyst you will be required to take the initiative and possess Blue Prism RPA, together with Power Platform or Agentic AI tooling is preferred.

You will undertake discovery activity, facilitate workshops, engage with operational and corporate stakeholders and document current and future state processes, assess automation suitability and produce high quality artefacts that enable prioritised and controlled delivery.

For this role you will be required to attend the client's site in Warwickshire one day per week as there will be significant stakeholder engagement required from the business for this role.

Key Skills & Experience include:

Business analysis and process modelling experience, including AS-IS and TO-BE mapping using recognised process standards such as BPMN.

Experience facilitating discovery workshops, process walk-throughs and requirements sessions with operational and technical stakeholders.

Understanding of RPA, Power Platform, Agentic AI delivery lifecycles, automation suitability assessment and development handover requirements.

Ability to produce high-quality documentation suitable for governance, audit, development, testing and operational handover.

Experience in requirements engineering, gap analysis, benefits definition and traceability.

Awareness of Power Platform, RPA, Agentic AI tooling, system integration considerations, data handling, exception management and support requirements.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.

Any knowledge of policing, public sector governance, information management and compliance considerations is highly desirable

The purpose of this engagement is to enhance the Automation programme by establishing a clear, evidence-based view of automation opportunities and by providing the analysis, documentation, facilitation and delivery readiness support required to progress suitable processes through the automation lifecycle.

This will include:

  • Build a robust pipeline of automation opportunities aligned to client priorities and operational demand.
  • Create consistent standards for process discovery, assessment, documentation and prioritisation.
  • Improve the quality of requirements and process definition available to developers and delivery teams.
  • Support stakeholder understanding of Automation, including what makes a process suitable or unsuitable for automation.
  • Strengthen governance, traceability and benefits realisation across the Automation portfolio.
  • Support transition from opportunity identification into development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
