Overview
Our client is growing its AI capability and is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to help design, build, and support enterprise AI platforms and solutions. This role will focus on developing secure, scalable AI infrastructure and applications that improve operational efficiency, support strategic decision-making, and enable the wider organisation to adopt Generative AI technologies safely and effectively.
Working closely with developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, you will help deliver advanced AI use cases including intelligent assistants, RAG-based solutions, and agentic workflows within a secure Azure cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimise AI infrastructure and cloud environments using Microsoft Azure technologies including Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning.
- Develop and manage CI/CD, LLMOps, and MLOps pipelines to support the full AI application lifecycle.
- Design and deploy Generative AI solutions including RAG architectures, intelligent agents, and multi-agent workflows.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate and standardise deployments.
- Ensure AI platforms remain secure, scalable, and compliant through robust identity, access, and governance controls.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business teams to move AI proof-of-concepts into production.
- Monitor AI performance, token usage, and operational costs, driving continuous optimisation and improvement.
- Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to support innovation across the organisation.
- Promote Responsible AI practices, ensuring solutions are ethical, transparent, and aligned to governance standards.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience building and supporting AI infrastructure within Microsoft Azure environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG solutions, NLP, and agentic AI workflows.
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and Azure Machine Learning.
- Proven capability with CI/CD pipelines, LLMOps/MLOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Strong programming and systems integration experience.
- Understanding of AI security, governance, and responsible AI principles.
- Experience working collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Passion for emerging AI technologies and continuous innovation.
