We have an immediate opening for a Research and Development (R&D) Project Coordinator to support the smooth execution of R&D activities within the Simcyp science team, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of R&D. This role focuses on coordinating projects, arranging logistics, tracking progress, and driving process improvements across a team of ~60 scientists in the PBPK science group.
The successful candidate will have experience working with large teams of scientists, product owners, business and support functions, as well as external collaborators and clients. A solid understanding of R&D processes—particularly those related to developing innovative, tech-enabled products and services—is essential.
We are seeking candidates with a scientific degree and several years of experience in R&D project coordination, ideally within a research-intensive or product development environment.
Responsibilities
As an R&D Project Coordinator, you will provide critical support to the SVP of R&D and project managers to ensure efficient execution of research and development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project plans and schedules, and sharing updates with relevant stakeholders.
- Documenting project progress, delays, and deviations, and preparing regular status reports.
- Assisting project leads in coordinating scientific team activities to help minimise delays.
- Tracking and escalating project risks to project leads and management.
- Supporting the development and monitoring of metrics to measure project progress and performance.
- Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assisting in identifying and implementing process improvements to drive more effective program delivery.
- Supporting software development project managers to ensure efficient cross-team collaboration.
- Organising logistics for training sessions and workshops (e.g., on project management tools) for the Science team.
- Adapting flexibly to changing priorities and supporting process changes across projects.
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant discipline, with several years of practical experience.
- Experience with research and development activities, and familiarity with the software/product development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint; familiarity with Azure DevOps and Power BI is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills, high attention to detail, and a flexible approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
