Certain Advantage is hiring for a Quality Inspector based in Mansfield. This role is on a permanent basis and is fully site-based.

The Company: We are working with a market-leading UK manufacturer in the rail freight sector, with over 100 years of engineering heritage. The business specialises in wagon design, manufacturing, and maintenance, and continues to invest in innovation and quality across its operations.
The Role: This role is for a Quality Inspector with a strong bias towards welding inspection and shop floor quality control. You will be responsible for ensuring that products, components, and assemblies meet internal standards and customer requirements, supporting both in-process and final inspection activities.
Day to Day:
- Carry out in-process and final inspections on products, components, and assemblies
- Verify compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Inspect welds and fabrication work to ensure workmanship meets required standards
- Identify, record, and report non-conformances
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues
- Ensure inspection equipment is used correctly and maintained/calibrated
- Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote a strong quality and safety culture across the shop floor
The Individual:
- Strong background in quality inspection within a manufacturing / engineering environment
- Solid understanding of welding processes and fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Familiar with welding inspection standards (CSWIP preferred or working towards)
