Job Description
- Design test rigs and components using 3DX/Catia V6, from concept to delivery.
- Produce 2D manufacturing drawings for internal workshops and external suppliers.
- Liaise with internal customers to capture requirements and ensure rig capability.
- Work closely with fitters and supervisors during build and installation.
- Manage workload and deadlines to ensure timely project delivery.
- Review and validate junior engineers’ designs and drawings.
- Carry out validation using calculations, kinematics, MBS, FEA/CAE, and produce technical reports.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of road vehicle testing methodologies.
- Understanding of vehicle architecture, mechanical systems, and components.
- Proficient 3D CAD user (Catia V6/3DX preferred).
- Experienced in creating and interpreting detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques and design optimisation.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve problems.
- Experience validating designs through simulation and engineering methods.
