Oppotunity for a highly analytical and solution-oriented engineer with a strong background in manufacturing or industrial quality. You must possess excellent skills in Project Management, quality standards, and stakeholder engagement. Experience with the listed quality tools (APQP, FMEA, PPV, CPs) is highly desirable.
Team: Quality Development Programmes & Major Industrial ProjectsThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Airbus Quality team in Broughton, focusing on the industrialization of major aircraft modifications and transfers. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer looking to develop expertise in Project Management, APQP application, Quality standards, Industrial System Development, and Operational Quality Management.
You will be instrumental in ensuring full product adherence to stringent standards, process reliability, and repeatability from the initial design phase through to serial manufacture and rate ramp-up.
Strategic Missions & Industrial FocusThe core mission is to ensure the complete quality industrialization necessary to support high-volume serial manufacturing at current and increased operating levels.
Industrialization Leadership: Drive the full quality industrialization of Major Modifications, STEP Mods (Synchronised Targeted Embodiment Points), Incremental Developments, Full Developments, and Major Industrial Transfers.
Product Safety Priority: Ensure focused attention and priority are given to Production Organisation Approvals (POA) activities to maintain the highest level of Product Safety across all industrial changes.
Quality Governance: Ensure quality input is integrated into all critical decision points, including risk reviews, multi-function reviews, planning, and stakeholder reviews.Core Tasks & Accountabilities (APQP Focus)This role requires the application and deployment of advanced quality planning methodologies, driving continuous improvement through structured analysis and verification:
APQP Management: Lead the application and deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles and Quality Standards across the organization.
Process Analysis: Support and facilitate Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) across Design, Process, and Machine domains.
Verification: Plan and execute Production Process Verification (PPV) activities to validate all routings and industrial processes.
Control Planning: Create and update Control Plans (CPs) to accurately incorporate modification and evolution requirements.
Cost Management: Lead Cost of Non-Quality forecasting and proactively support mitigation activities.
Critical Item Cascade: Support the cascade of Key Characteristics (KC) and Critical Items (CTI) from both Design and Manufacturing Engineering functions.
Start of Production (SoP) Support: Provide crucial lineside support for local test campaigns and Head of Version (HoV) manufacturing phases during the initial Start of Production. xiskglj
Assessment & Review: Support and participate in APQP deliverables, including Decision Treeβs (DT), Applicability Matrix (AM), and Key Business Deliverable (KBD) assessments, acting as both deliverable owner and assessor.
