World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract.
Rate: £60.00 per hour
Location: Portsmouth
Hybrid/Remote working: 2 days per week remote working
Duration: 6 months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
Embedded Software Engineer Job Description:
\n The role of Embedded Software Engineer is required due to increased demand for the work of our Advanced Developments Group (ADG). The ADG are a small team of highly innovative, enthusiastic engineers providing cutting edge technology solutions to our key customers.
Responsibilities

- Use your skills and knowledge to prototype innovative wireless solutions \n
- You will be primarily developing using C/C++ on Embedded platforms \n
- Development of Embedded software/firmware prototypes in an agile environment \n
- Further development of proven prototypes to a deployment standard \n
- Development of software in a Real Time Embedded environment using Linux. (eg Microblaze or RISC-V using C/C++) \n
- Experience of working with and configuring Embedded Linux systems with tools such as Buildroot and Yocto \n
- Experience of working with Uboot, Kernel config and device trees \n
- Building and deploying Embedded Linux systems in an offline environment \n

- Experience programming Embedded Systems using C/C++ \n
- Experience of bare-metal and Embedded Linux environments \n
- Experience of linux device drivers including DMA, Interrupts, and Device Trees \n
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing \n
- Knowledge of Software Defined Radio \n
