Job Description

Payroll Specialist – German Legislation Remote – Stockton on Tees Circa £30 per hour Initially 6-month contract (long-term thereafter) 37.5 hours per week Certain Advantage is working in partnership with a global organisation to recruit a skilled Payroll Specialist with expertise in German payroll legislation. This is a critical role supporting payroll operations, ensuring compliance and delivering high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll for German sites in line with statutory regulations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOx controls.
  • Respond to internal and external queries related to tax, social security, illness, and insurance, including support during audits.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects with internal departments to streamline payroll processes.
  • Maintain and update documentation, workflows, and procedure manuals to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Participate in virtual and on-site customer meetings across Germany to address payroll-related queries and build client confidence.

Your Background:

  • Professional-level German language skills (spoken and written).
  • Strong working knowledge of German legislation and applicable European payroll standards.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage, analyse, and validate data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong customer relationships.
