Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of our prominent Automotive client in Warwickshire for a contractor to take responsibility for the planning and delivery co-ordination of technical engineering data for the purpose of building vehicle simulation models with this data.
You won’t be building these models. Simulation models are used by various Engineering Teams to conduct assessments in the virtual world for future products, and the team need your support ensuring accurate and up to date data is available at the right time as per the programme requirements, and that issues are resolved and don’t re-occur. You’ll be required to develop close working relationships with the Engineering Teams that design programme components and systems and deliver the associated engineering data to keep the programme on track.
Candidate skills
- Previous experience in automotive engineering and CAE tools is not required.
- The main technical requirements are a strong understanding in MS Office tools like Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- This role requires project management skills, planning and delivery as well as presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas, high level plans, and large amounts of data to stakeholders and senior management.
- You’ll need to show assertiveness, strong interpersonal skills, and use negotiation skills with a wide range of multi-functional teams.
The Role
- Create and maintain plans and ensure alignment with all data providers (internal) and communication to stakeholders.
- Provide regular programme status for workstream and support the co-ordination of the overall Virtual Series plan.
- Engage with new data providers as required by growing team scope, modelling capability, or simulation of new technologies.
- Proactively identify quality issues and drive resolution of any issues identified.
- Escalate issues preventing the on-time delivery of engineering data.
- Analyse data issue records to initiate, guide and inform prevent reoccurrence activities in appropriate areas.
- Drive continuous improvement actions to improve operational efficiency and lead or support activities to prevent reoccurrence of any delivery timing or quality failures.
- Undertake any other work as directed by the Model Build and Delivery Manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.
