World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is currently looking to recruit 2x Test Equipment Design Support Engineer subcontractors on an initial 6 month contract. This role would suit a candidate who comes from a strong Electronics Engineer OR Production Support Engineer OR Test Systems Designer OR Electronics Design Engineer background.
Rate: £65.00 per hour
Overtime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at time and a quarter
Location: Bolton
Hybrid / Remote working: 4-5 days a week onsite (possible for remote work occasionally). The department are happy for a Compressed week to be worked, for 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday)
Duration: 6 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
We have a phenomenal opportunity for experienced Electronic Design Engineers to play a leading role in the support of production activities at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Working within Production Design Support (PDS) is a highly rewarding role as you not only see designs coming to life in the manufacturing environment but you can help to shape the design of the products and test equipment, delivering support to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- You will act as the interface between our design teams and our manufacturing teams while working alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support.
- Whilst the primary aim is focused on highly advanced module missile programmes and subsystems, there is also scope to work on other unique opportunities including support to launcher assemblies.
- The role offers the candidate a true engineering challenge in their core discipline(s), whilst providing scope for personal growth and development in other areas of electronics.
Skillset/experience required:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience of designing product/systems and/or providing support to designs through the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
- Proven experience in the design of one or more of the following disciplines:
- Digital and Analogue electronics
- Power Electronics
- RF & Antenna
- Interconnects
- Safety Electronics
- Test Systems
- Schematic design
- PCB Design
