We are partnering with a rapidly expanding renewable energy company, currently in an exciting start-up phase. Since its founding in 2020, this organization has secured a significant pipeline of over 16 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, offshore wind, and storage projects across 10 European markets. They are seeking a Project Developer for Germany to manage the full project lifecycle. This includes overseeing permitting, grid connection, and stakeholder engagement from early-stage development through to ready-to-build (RTB) status for secured sites. Reporting to the Business Development Director for Germany, this role will be based in Düsseldorf, with the possibility of hybrid remote working and regular travel across Germany.
What You'll Do:
- Define and supervise project schedules and budgets, ensuring quality control of deliverables.
- Oversee risk management and prepare necessary internal reports.
- Coordinate with internal teams, development partners, external advisors, equipment suppliers, and various authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant RTB project conditions.
- Evaluate and track offers from external service providers, managing order processing and support.
- Contribute to financial models, business cases, and investment proposals for renewable energy projects, focusing on all project-relevant matters.
- Regularly report to stakeholders on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Engage with stakeholders as needed to advance projects, including local communities, landowners, other developers, and relevant regulatory bodies.
What You'll Need:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Engineering, Geography, Economics, or a similar field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in project development within the renewable energy sector (PV or biomass; Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) experience is a plus).
- A comprehensive understanding of the project development process from inception to RTB status, as well as knowledge of German regulations for PV and BESS projects.
- Native or fluent German speaker with good knowledge of English.
- Valid driver's license and a high willingness to travel across Germany.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills, effective communication, and the ability to establish and develop a network of partners.
