This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal finance professional or someone with strong accounts experience looking to specialise within the legal sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of the firm's financial processes, in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately allocate and post outlays to client matters in a timely manner
- Process and record all incoming funds, including banking of cheques and electronic receipts
- Manage and monitor outstanding fees, proactively liaising with third parties to ensure prompt recovery
- Execute electronic payments through online banking systems, ensuring accuracy and appropriate authorisation at all times
- Review and verify fee earners payment requests, identifying discrepancies and returning for correction where necessary
- Check and reconcile expense accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and supported by appropriate documentation
- Process monthly payments to third parties, including medical experts, motor engineering firms, and other suppliers
- Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with internal controls
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, including Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc duties and reporting as required
