Certain Advantage is hiring for an Electrical Design Engineer based in the Southwest area. This role is on a permanent basis and is site-based.

The Company: We are working with an engineering company specialising in solving complex engineering challenges across industries from Power Generation, Rail and more.

The Role: This role is for an Electrical Design Engineer - someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You will be results-oriented and driven to succeed. You will be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

  • Development and delivery of electrical design packages from concept through to detailed design.
  • Producing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical substantiation to support new installations, system modifications and infrastructure projects.

The Individual: We are looking for people who can show:

  • Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Electrical design packages within a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of LV and HV power distribution systems.
  • Electrical calculations, technical specifications and design substantiation.
  • Knowledge of electrical design standards and industry codes of practice.
  • Knowledge of BS 7671, IEC standards and relevant industry regulations.
  • Experience using CAD and electrical design software.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working in defence, nuclear, energy, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with ETAP, Amtech, Trimble, AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.
  • Experience supporting design reviews, hazard assessments and safety case documentation.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical report-writing skills.
