Certain Advantage is hiring for a Technical Lead - Stress based in the Derby area. This role is on a permanent basis and is site-based.
The Company: We’re working with an engineering company specialising in managing complex infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on nuclear energy, renewable energy, and digital transformation solutions.
The Role: This role is for a Technical Lead - Stress—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results-oriented and driven to succeed. You’ll be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:
- Finite Element Analysis methods
- Calculation reviews
- Modelling
- Assist in achieving business targets
The Individual: We’re looking for people who can show:
- Transferable skills from highly regulated sectors
- Expertise in fatigue, fracture, thermal, and structural stress assessments using finite element analysis
- Finite Element analysis in ABAQUS
- CRACKEN or alternative fracture assessment
- Familiar with the Gated review process
- Code assessment to ASME B&PVC and R6; RCC-M
- Knowledge of structural integrity & defect tolerance assessments
- Python scripting in the ABAQUS environment is desirable
- Fatigue crack growth & initiation experience is desirable
