World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an Embedded C Software Engineer on an initial 6 month contract.
Rate: £70.00 per hour
Location: Stevenage
Hybrid / Remote working: Onsite however a 4 day working week (Monday to Thursday) is available.
Contract: 37 Hours per week
Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at time and a quarter
Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
We are a world leader in missile and missile systems looking for highly capable and adaptable Engineers to join our Development Facility in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. You will be responsible for developing the software through the full lifecycle for safety related real-time systems application software for the next generation of Missile Systems. This is a technical hands-on role working the full software lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for delivering the on-board software for the next generation of Missile Systems.
- This is a hands-on role and will involve architecting, designing, implementing and testing missile subsystem software.
Skillset/experience required:
Minimal: (Good)
- Ability to debug complex problems and be able to produce required documentation to achieve the required safety level.
- Authoring Specifications through the full lifecycle: planning, design and test documents.
- Requirements Analysis Experience
- Knowledge of Source Configuration Control Processes (e.g., PVCS, RTC, GIT)
- Working with minimal supervision.
- Experience of working with formal requirements capture tool.
- Significant previous experience of developing bare-metal embedded software using C/C++.
Required: (Better)
- Previous experience of development and verification of embedded software written in C and developed at a high safety integrity level (SIL4 / DO178C Level B or equivalent).
- Specification creation and compliance recording in DOORS.
- Working knowledge of C/C++ for testing special builds and focussed code reviews.
- Unit Testing using LDRA, RAPITA or CPP Unit or an equivalent testing tool.
- Understanding of Code Coverage and techniques/strategies used to cover/justify shortfall.
- Working in a lab environment with live equipment (PSUs, Scopes, Logic Analysers etc.) conducting system tests.
Desirable: (Best)
- Significant experience in developing software to DO178C Level B.
- Knowledge of Defence standards and Micro-controller technologies.
- Testing on Development Cards with a test environment or bare-metal with special builds.
- Experience using test systems.
- RAPITA Tool experience.
- Knowledge and use of ALM.
- Creation and use of Virtual Machines (VMWare).
