The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end design processes – from concept through to final delivery. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective designs that meet client specifications and compliance requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Deliver detailed 3D mechanical designs for complex assemblies and components
- Take full design ownership throughout the lifecycle of multiple projects
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments to ensure smooth delivery
- Conduct risk assessments, FMEA, and create supporting documentation and manuals
- Monitor your own design hours and manage design change requests
- Participate in internal and external design reviews
- Ensure accurate data management through design systems and structures
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally with hands-on knowledge in automated or engineered systems (conveyor systems would be beneficial)
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- Strong mechanical understanding, with familiarity in electrical components such as motors and sensors
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor or similar) and AutoCAD
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Competitive salary up to £50,000
- Annual bonus of up to 10%
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

- Additional payment for weekend project support (£75 per 4-hour block)
