Overview
Contract: 6-month
Location: Christchurch - Dorset (3 days a week onsite, 2 remote)
Certain Advantage are working with a leading consultancy who support some of the world's largest Engineering, defence, nuclear and government projects.
We're hiring for a Technical Author with demonstrable experience in Data Module authoring to an S1000D 4.1 standard, and experience using industry proprietary software tools through an EAGLE LSAR and EAGLE Publishing System to construct a comprehensive CSDB.
Responsibilities
- Request, gather and assess the required source logistic information from equipment suppliers to inform the required technical publications.
- Undertake Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) on electronic computing and communication systems including an array of radios and masts.
- Author Data modules from the MTA and other publications including operating procedures and training material. This will include technical drawings.
- Liaise with Training Team to provide assistance with training content.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of the Data Modules Requirements List.
- Author from new and update the full suite of descriptive, procedural and IPD data modules to populate the Common Source Database (CSDB).
- Proofread and review Data Modules produced by other team members, using the CSDB workflow.
- Produce new IETPs using trilogisoftware for delivery to the customer.
- General assistance with other ILS and LSA Tasks.
Qualifications / Individual requirements
- Technical Publications specifications e.g. S1000D 4.1
- Data Module authoring to an S1000D 4.1 standard
- Standard Numbering Systems
- Population and maintenance of a Data Module Requirements List (DMRL)
- Technical authoring processes and techniques using industry proprietary software tools preferably through an EAGLE LSAR and EAGLE Publishing System to construct a comprehensive CSDB.
- Knowledge and experience of XML Data Module technical authoring using EAGLE XML editor or industry equivalent.
- Technical Publications/IETP/CSDB Configuration Management processes.
