World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage and Bristol is currently looking to recruit a Systems Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. The department are looking for Systems Engineers ideally from the defence / aerospace background. Previous experience of DOORS is required.
Hourly Rate: £70.00ph (Umbrella). Overtime Rate: Hours worked over the standard 37 hours per week, will be paid at time and a quarter.
Location: Bristol or Stevenage (depending on your preference).
Hybrid / Remote working: The role will likely be onsite 2-3 days per week (this could reduce once up to speed in the role). A 4 day working week is OK (Monday to Thursday).
Duration: 6 Months with very likely extension. Contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter.
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella).
Interview process: One stage video interview.
Job Description:
- Analyse high level design documentation to elaborate and capture required sub-system functional behaviour.
- Review evidence and produce certification statements.
- Build good working relationships with stakeholders to enable effective review of artefacts with teams above and below.
- Support resolution of queries and non-compliances.
Skillset/experience required:
Essential:
- Strong Systems Engineering background.
- Specific tools knowledge: IBM DOORS.
- Requirements Elicitation.
- Verification of requirements and evidence review.
- Rapid assimilation of technical information.
Desirable:
- Specific tools knowledge: IBM Rhapsody / IBM Engineering Workflow Management.
- Air launched weapons experience.
- Experience managing software-heavy equipment requirements / integration of software-heavy equipment.
