Project Engineer Mechanical Bristol up to £40.43 per hour initially 12 months Virtual interview (1 stage) Mon-Fri
Certain Advantage is partnering with a key nuclear client to recruit a Project Engineer. You will provide fit-for-purpose engineering solutions for projects or engineering support on more complex projects and ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately.
What will you be doing?
- Determine and capture functional requirements along with stakeholder expectations for allocated projects.
- Assist in developing the Project Execution Plan, including approaches for design, safety case development, and commissioning.
- Contribute to the evaluation and selection of project options.
- Produce conceptual designs and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
- Prepare and/or review and authorise technical specifications.
- Oversee detailed design work in line with established design authority requirements.
- Develop modification proposals when necessary, fulfilling the role of Nominated Responsible Engineer where assigned.
- Review and approve contractors' technical documentation, such as method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments.
- Provide technical oversight during construction or dismantling activities to ensure adherence to design intent.
A couple of things you should know:
- Background in nuclear and/or conventional engineering project environments.
- Familiarity with applicable company and/or national engineering standards.
- Understanding of Safety Rules and practical application of risk assessment techniques.
- Awareness of Site Licence conditions and Quality Management System expectations.
During an interview, you may be asked about:
- Working knowledge of the CDM Designer role.
- Experience in contract management.
- Proven involvement in delivering engineering projects.
