Job Title: Assistant Accountant Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid) Salary: Competitive, based on experience A well-established and highly respected organisation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join its finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in producing accurate and timely financial information, and providing additional support to the Finance Director with analytical tasks. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build on their finance experience in a supportive, collaborative environment with strong professional development prospects. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyse cash flow, investigating any variances to budget. Record bank payments accurately in the finance system. Ensure all P&L transactions are recorded and coded correctly. Support monthly WIP submissions and respond to queries. Assist with month-end processes: including accruals, prepayments, and board/executive reporting packs. Process and code monthly credit card statements. Prepare partner payments, ensuring accurate coding and profit centre allocation. Maintain and report on Net Zero records quarterly. Support gross margin analysis and assist with key account finance. Participate in external survey completions, including supporting calculations. Contribute to finance training materials and content delivery. Help maintain the finance intranet page and assist with internal communications. Assist with ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks as required.Candidate Profile We’re looking for someone who is: A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
