Certain Advantage is partnering with a well-established engineering business to recruit an experienced HSE Officer . In this role, you will be responsible for creating safe working areas and stopping unsafe practices within a metal manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver hands-on HSE training and guidance to managers and staff as needed.
Prepare, check and update risk assessments, safe work methods and operational controls; drive closure of all associated actions.
Conduct weekly health and safety audits and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses and environmental events; determine root causes and implement proportionate corrective and preventive measures.
Oversee emergency preparedness, including fire safety, spill response, first-aid coordination and evacuation exercises.
Encourage workforce engagement and proactive reporting through safety meetings and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Keep an up-to-date register of all hazardous substances used or stored on site.
Your Background:
Experience in ISO 14001 audits (preparation, execution and action tracking); support compliance with environmental permits, waste regulations and internal procedures.
