We are currently recruiting 6 dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive Special School on full-time basis.

The successful candidates will support either a Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4 class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals in a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role

  • As An SEN Teaching Assistant, You Will
  • Support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) within a KS3 or KS4 classroom.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team to deliver engaging and personalised learning.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, communication, social interaction, and emotional development.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all pupils.

Essential Requirements

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (such as Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Health & Social Care, Education, or equivalent).
  • Have previous experience working within a Special School or SEN setting.
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Be available to work full time, Monday to Friday.
  • Be patient, compassionate, resilient, and passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with complex learning needs or additional communication needs.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and autism-specific approaches.
  • Team Teach or other positive behaviour support training (desirable but not essential).
