We are seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our dedicated team at a busy primary school in Sandwell. This is a full-time role requiring split shift working, supporting the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the school site. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the school environment is safe, secure, clean, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day management and maintenance of the school premises
- Opening and securing the school site, including alarm systems
- Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
- Overseeing cleaning standards and supporting cleaning staff as required
- Conducting regular health & safety checks and ensuring compliance
- Assisting with site preparation for events and school activities
- Monitoring contractors on site and reporting issues
- Supporting emergency procedures and call-outs when required
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Site Manager (or Assistant Site Manager) within a school environment is essential
- Proven knowledge of health & safety procedures, including COSHH
- Ability to carry out basic maintenance and repairs
- Willingness and ability to work split shifts
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
