CERT Solutions is seeking a compassionate and adaptable SEN Teacher to join a specialised school in Great Barr. This setting is dedicated to students with Severe Learning Difficulties, ranging from EYFS to Post-16. The school focuses on providing a curriculum that balances life skills, sensory development, and academic progress at an appropriate pace. We need a teacher who can look beyond the disability to unlock the potential of every student. This position offers the security of a full-time, long-term role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons specifically for students with SLD, focusing on sensory engagement and functional life skills.
  • Use proactive strategies to support students with sensory processing needs and associated challenging behaviours.
  • Utilize total communication environments including symbols, objects of reference, and signing.

Requirements

  • QTS
  • Significant experience working with students who have severe learning difficulties and complex health or sensory needs.
  • Comfortable working across the age range from EYFS to Post-16.
  • Proficiency in PECS, Makaton, or other AAC methods is essential desirable.
