Cerisia Homes CIC is looking to recruit a compassionate, reliable and motivated Floating Waking Night Support Worker to join our growing team, supporting young people aged 16–18 within our Supported Accommodation services.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who are preparing for independence.
As a Floating Waking Night Support Worker, you will work across our homes, ensuring young people remain safe throughout the night while providing practical and emotional support to help them develop the skills needed for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular welfare checks throughout the night to ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, emergencies and incidents in line with company policies and procedures.
- Support young people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning and maintaining their accommodation.
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people whilst maintaining clear boundaries.
- Complete accurate daily recordings, incident reports, welfare checks and handovers.
- Liaise effectively with Social Workers, Emergency Duty Teams, Police and other professionals when required.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage young people to make safe and informed choices.
- Carry out health and safety checks within the homes and report any maintenance concerns.
- Support with admissions, planned moves and emergency placements where required.
- Travel between Cerisia Homes properties as required to provide overnight cover.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and understands the challenges they may face transitioning into adulthood.
You will have

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations professionally.
- Good written and IT skills to complete accurate records.
- An understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- The ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Flexibility to work across different Cerisia Homes properties when required.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
Desirable
- Experience working with young people aged 16–18 in Supported Accommodation, Children's Residential Care, Leaving Care or Supported Living.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and contextual safeguarding.
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, or willingness to work towards one.
