Cerise Healthcare is recruiting for exceptional Support Workers to work with adults with Learning Disabilities in Supported Living Services in Reading, Newbury and Wokingham. Support Workers will assist service users with all aspects of their life with which they require assistance, including personal care, daily living tasks and community participation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks as required
  • Manage challenging behaviour
  • Assist with finances and budgeting as appropriate
  • Prompt and assist with medication administration
  • Assist with cooking and meal preparation
  • Help with household chores and maintaining a safe, clean living environment
  • Support social engagement by meeting friends and attending events
  • Support access to the community and community activities

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviour
  • Experience in personal care is required
  • Ability to work as part of a team; some services may offer lone working
  • Recent UK-based healthcare experience
  • Demonstrates initiative, patience and the ability to adapt to service user needs
  • Good written and verbal English; basic numeracy
  • Current DBS on the Update Service (or be prepared to undertake one)
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA)
  • Punctual and reliable
