We are looking for a new Head of Presales, to replace a long-standing colleague who is retiring. Cerillion’s Head of Presales currently holds a number of responsibilities and daily activities:
- Line management of the Presales team of six people distributed across the UK, Poland, France, and the USA.
- Bid management: Accountable for ensuring that all deliverables (documents, demos, etc.) for tenders are met and resourced appropriately. This includes effectively managing the successful delivery of tender responses, allocation of resources to tasks, dependency and deadline management, and liaising with the Opportunity Owner.
- Interaction with colleagues outside Sales (Legal, Commercial, Delivery, Support, etc.) on whom we’ll have dependencies for providing complete responses.
- RFP response work: The Head of Presales is often involved in the preparation of the responses, particularly on large bids.
- Compliance responses and proposal creation.
- The role is expected to evolve from its current shape, reflecting our increasing size and the strengths of the successful candidate. You will work very closely with the Business Development Director in shaping that team structure and organisation.
Education, qualifications & special training: Educated to graduate level and/or beyond.
Experience: The successful candidate will ideally have ten years + in telecoms BSS/OSS, preferably in Presales and possibly with line management experience. Other relevant roles within BSS/OSS vendors include Project Management, Business Analyst, and Solution Architect. Experience across the full BSS/OSS lifecycle is very useful (R&D, Development, Sales, Delivery, Support). They will be personable, confident, self-sufficient, and should like cats. Travel is not necessarily involved for the role, but as a team, we do travel a lot.
Minimum technical skills required:
- MS Office, advanced level (Excel, Word & PowerPoint specifically)
- Domain expertise (BSS/OSS)
- Visio or similar
- Desirable: TM Forum certification and experience
- Cloud hyperscaler certification
- Project/Bid Management
- Presales (bids, demos, process, etc.)
Competencies/capabilities – behavioral:
- Essential: Organised, professional, multi-tasking, flexible and pragmatic; familiarity with BSS/OSS capabilities and market expectations; communication & stakeholder management; Presales / Senior Business Analyst/Project Management experience.
- Desirable: Team leadership experience; commercial awareness.
