Purpose of the role: In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, building, and fabricating fuel and electrolysis cell stacks, along with balance‑of‑plant components, ensuring all work meets agreed specifications and planned delivery targets. You will problem-solve mechanical, assembly, and fabrication issues as they arise and actively support continuous improvement initiatives to help the company achieve its Key Performance Metrics.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all Works Orders are built, assembled, and tested to specification.
- Carrying out component assembly and fabrication for prototype development builds.
- Providing support to other Manufacturing areas as needed.
- Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering on ongoing improvement activities.
- Maintaining accurate build and inspection documentation.
- Assisting in creating Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintaining a clean and well-organised work area after all activities.
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
- Hands-on experience - mechanical assembly/fitting.
- Production-build background.
- Up-to-date experience of working with workshop equipment eg pillar drill, lathe, mill, grinding wheel.
- Up-to-date TIG welding experience - stainless steel.
- Proven problem-solving experience.
- Flexibility in relation to overtime and shift change requirements to suit business need.
Highly desirable skills & experience:
- Experience of working in controlled areas eg GMP, clean room.
- Aptitude for or experience in clean build environments with highest levels of 5S.
- Demonstrate “right first time” mentality and quality culture.
