A personal assistant is required to join our team to care for an elderly lady who has some memory issues, to give the family a break from the caring role.
providing a service in her own home that she shares with her brother. Engaging her in conversation and ensuring she is safe during this time, providing her with drinks and snacks whilst on duty, prompting her and assisting with preparing simple meals and getting up in the morning, choosing clothes and encouraging her to wash and dress etc., in the evening helping her get ready for bed, some light domestic tasks are expected.
Duties on Saturday will include taking her brother who lives with her into town for shopping and a short social interlude. For which a fuel allowance is payable. The hours to be worked are:
Weekdays, Wednesday and Friday 4pm till 7pm
Weekends, Saturday 9.30 am till 7pm
Sunday, 10am till 1pm
More than one PA may be recruited.
Main Duties: -.

Support and encourage the cared for person with activities of interest.

Prepare snacks and drinks when on shift, meals if longer periods.

Ensure the cared for person is kept safe during this period.

Keep accurate timesheets and records of tasks completed.

Provide social outing for her brother if required.

Provide cover for other PAs during holidays

Any other reasonable duties requested from time to time.
