Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of electronic and electro-mechanical components to meet agreed design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Create and maintain approved component lists and Bills of Material (BoM) revisions using the Arena BoM management, or other tools as required.
  • Using published data, ensure components and products meet industry compliance requirements for quality, emissions, safety and the environment.
  • Survey the market to identify or develop enabling component technologies for next generation products.
  • Assess component supply risks, manage component obsolescence, and propose alternative sourcing solutions to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Occasional global travel to supplier sites may be required.

Candidate Profile Requirements

  • In depth working knowledge of BOM management and sourcing systems such as Arena and Silicon Expert.
  • Excellent electronics knowledge and familiarity with component parameters and datasheets.
  • Good understanding of PCB manufacturing and SMT assembly processes.
  • Ability to understand the interaction and dependencies between silicon, package and PCB design.
  • Experienced in working with leading edge suppliers in electronics supply chain, preferably with offshore contract manufacturers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to support component and supply chain decisions.
  • BEng/HND Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
