About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Fibre Optic / Structured Cabling Technician to join our growing infrastructure team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of fibre optic and copper network cabling systems across various commercial, data centre, or enterprise environments.
You’ll be working on high-performance structured cabling systems that form the backbone of mission-critical networks — including those supporting cloud, telecom, AI, and enterprise operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test fibre optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode) using industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Terminate and validate OM4/OM5 fibre for AI workloads
- Perform cable pulls, routing through conduits, cable trays, walls, and ceilings in accordance with site specs and health & safety standards.
- Label, dress, and secure cables for optimal organization and future access.
- Conduct fusion splicing and mechanical splicing of fibre cables.
- Perform Tier 1 & Tier 2 fibre testing (OLTS and OTDR).
- Work from blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings to complete installations accurately.
- Diagnose and repair connectivity issues in fibre and copper systems.
- Coordinate with on-site teams, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of cabling infrastructure.
Requirements
- 3+ years of structured cabling experience
- Strong fibre optic termination and testing skills
- Experience in hyperscale environments is advantageous
- Certifications: BICSI, FOA, manufacturer certs (e.g., Panduit, Leviton)
