About the Role:
We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer with proven experience in the physical and technical deployment of AI-ready environments. This role is critical to building the foundational infrastructure that supports machine learning, high-performance computing (HPC), and GPU-based workloads. The ideal candidate will be experienced in deploying compute nodes, networking, storage, and supporting infrastructure in data centre or enterprise environments.
You’ll play a key role in configuring, testing, and deploying servers, networking equipment, and cabling in support of GPU-based compute clusters. You will work alongside hardware engineers, data center operations teams, and network architects to ensure fast, reliable, and secure deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Deploy and configure physical AI infrastructure (e.g., GPU servers, high-speed networking, storage systems)
-
Collaborate on rack planning, cabling layouts, and airflow optimization
-
Install and test hardware including servers, switches, PDUs, and interconnects
-
Perform hardware diagnostics, firmware updates, and performance validation
-
Support high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Ethernet) and fiber/copper cabling
-
Follow best practices for data center operations, including asset tracking and documentation
-
Work under tight timelines with precision and attention to quality
Required Experience:
-
Proven experience deploying infrastructure in data centers or HPC environments
-
Strong understanding of server hardware, GPUs, and networking equipment
-
Experience with structured cabling (fiber and copper) and physical installation standards
-
Familiarity with BIOS/IPMI/BMC configuration and OS provisioning tools
-
Ability to read technical diagrams, rack elevation plans, and cabling schematics
-
Comfortable working hands-on in data center environments (lifting, racking, connecting, etc.)
Desirable Skills:
-
Previous work on AI, machine learning, or HPC cluster deployments
-
Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, DGX systems, or custom AI racks
-
Knowledge of Ansible, Redfish, PXE boot, or infrastructure automation tools
-
Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, BICSI, or similar
-
Understanding of thermal and power design for high-density environments
What We Offer:
-
Competitive day rate (dependent on experience and scope)
-
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI infrastructure deployments
-
Fast-paced, technical environment with a highly skilled team
-
Potential for future contracts on extended projects
