Through our FastTrack to Employment programme, we provide intensive, practical IT training designed to equip individuals with the fundamental skills and confidence required to begin a career in IT.

Our five-day programme focuses on IT hardware engineering and networking, helping individuals develop practical, industry-relevant knowledge. Working closely with Cerco's recruitment team, the programme gives successful graduates access to permanent and contract employment opportunities with IT employers across the UK.

As our training operations continue to expand, we're looking for enthusiastic and technically knowledgeable individuals to support the delivery of our FastTrack training programme.

The Role

We are looking for confident, engaging and technically capable individuals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping others develop.

As a FastTrack Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering practical IT hardware and networking training to individuals looking to begin their careers within the IT industry.

You'll play an important role in helping learners develop their technical knowledge, improve their confidence and prepare for real-world IT engineering environments.

This opportunity would particularly suit individuals with experience in IT hardware engineering, networking, field engineering, desktop support or similar technical roles.

Previous classroom teaching or formal training experience is not essential for every candidate, as on-the-job training and support can be provided.

We are primarily interested in individuals who have good technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Cerco's five-day FastTrack to Employment training programme.
  • Provide engaging, practical instruction covering IT hardware engineering and networking fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate computer hardware components, installation procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Explain networking concepts and technical processes in a clear, accessible manner.
  • Support learners through hands-on exercises and practical training activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate learners with different levels of technical knowledge and experience.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback throughout the programme.
  • Help learners develop the confidence, practical skills and professional approach required for entry-level IT roles.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment.
  • Work closely with Cerco's training and recruitment teams to support successful programme delivery.
  • Contribute feedback and suggestions to help improve the training experience and programme effectiveness.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

  • Practical experience or a strong technical background in IT hardware engineering, networking or technical support.
  • A good understanding of computer hardware, including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts and connectivity.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • The confidence to explain technical subjects to individuals with limited previous IT experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with learners.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to engage, motivate and support groups.
  • A patient, approachable and professional manner.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • A willingness to learn new approaches and develop training delivery skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Previous experience in classroom teaching, technical training, mentoring or coaching would be advantageous but is not essential.

Training & Development

At Cerco, we recognise that technically experienced professionals often have the knowledge and practical ability to become excellent trainers, even without previous formal teaching experience.

For suitable candidates, on-the-job training and support can be provided to help develop the skills needed to deliver our FastTrack programme effectively.

This may include support with:

  • Understanding Cerco's FastTrack training programme and course structure.
  • Developing effective training delivery and presentation techniques.
  • Classroom management and learner engagement.
  • Supporting individuals with different levels of technical experience.
  • Delivering practical demonstrations and training exercises.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.

Our aim is to help technically capable individuals develop the confidence and skills required to deliver engaging, effective training.
