About the role
We are actively looking to hire a qualified or finalist ACCA / CIMA Management Accountant. This is an exciting and wide-ranging role that will be reporting directly into the Group Reporting Manager but will also work closely with the rest of the management accounts team, currently split between Colchester, London and Stafford. The role includes:
- Producing / reviewing entity management accounts including branch P&Ls and analysis
- Posting transactions, prepayments, accruals etc.
- Posting inter-company journals and reconciliation of IC accounts
- Dealing with external auditors and assisting with queries
- Working with the finance department and the wider business to ensure there are effective controls around the operational finance activities
- Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Answering ad hoc queries for management / wider finance
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified accountant / finalist with good knowledge of UK accounting standards
- Experience with producing management accounts
- Ability to coach junior members of the team
- Experience of calculating judgemental accruals
- Strong experience of variance analysis
- Experience of working with auditors to complete statutory audits
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a wider team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management
- Strong Excel skills are critical
