Specifically, the role is to support learners with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH). Role Responsibilities
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school:
- Work one to one with students with SEMH
- Support classroom learning and help engage pupils in their activities
- Work closely with teachers to enhance the learning experience for all pupils
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A recognised Teaching Assistantqualification or equivalent experience supporting learners with SEMH
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A passion for supporting children’s learning and personal development
- Flexibility, resilience, and a commitment to safeguarding
