CER Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support a variety of secondary schools across Sheffieldand the surrounding areas. About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with pre-planned work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of secondary school subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Encouraging student engagement and participation
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN requirements
- Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
- Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and pupil behaviour
- Upholding safeguarding and welfare standards at all times
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, tutoring, mentoring or youth work setting
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confidence leading groups of students aged 11-16
- A positive, adaptable and professional attitude
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Access to your own transport or the ability to travel reliably across Rotherham
