CER Education is working with a primary school in the Huyton/Knowsley area to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support within a reception class. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual who is passionate about early-years education and supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to provide tailored support for a child with SEND, helping them access learning, build confidence and take part fully in classroom routines. There will also be elements of general classroom support across the reception setting.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support for a child with SEND within a Reception class.
- Supporting learning and development in line with the EYFS curriculum.
- Helping with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and classroom routines.
- Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO and other teaching assistants to deliver targeted support.
- Supporting personal care where required.
- Assisting with general classroom activities, resources and pupil engagement.
Job Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEND, such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or global developmental delay and/or Early Years.
- A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach to teaching.
- An Enhanced DBS on the live update service, or willing to apply for one through CER Education.
- Right to work in the UK and professional references.
