Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – DN4 Area

Start date: After October half term

Location: DN4 area, Doncaster

Contract: Full-time, long-term role

Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

CER Education are working in partnership with one of our welcoming schools in the DN4 area to recruit a committed and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team after the October half term. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils, leading learning, and making a positive impact across the school day.

The Role

  • Deliver planned lessons and cover classes when required.
  • Support pupils across the curriculum, helping them to stay engaged and make progress.
  • Work closely with class teachers to adapt learning activities and provide targeted support.
  • Lead small group interventions and one-to-one support where needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a HLTA, Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar classroom-based role.
  • Confidence leading whole-class learning using teacher-prepared resources.
  • A good understanding of pupil progress, behaviour management, and safeguarding expectations.
  • A calm, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting children and young people.
  • A relevant HLTA qualification or strong school-based experience would be highly desirable.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
