CER Education are expanding our team of dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to support a range of partnership schools across Basingstoke. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact supporting pupils with a wide variety of special educational needs, including PMLD, MLD, and complex learning difficulties. Whether you’re an experienced SEN practitioner or an Early Career Teaching Assistant, we have a range of roles available — with full support to help you thrive in the classroom.

About the Role

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support students across the curriculum, working closely with teachers and SEN teams to deliver meaningful and personalised learning. You will have the opportunity to work in diverse settings, build new skills, and shape the educational experience of pupils who need your support the most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom learning and adapt activities in line with pupils’ EHCPs
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of special needs
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments with confidence and resilience
  • Use a variety of communication methods, strategies, and resources to enhance engagement
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and other support staff to share best practice
