We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dedicated team supporting secondary schools across Barnsley. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help students access the curriculum, achieve their potential, and develop confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in lessons, either individually or in small groups
  • Assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of learning activities
  • Provide targeted support for students with additional needs (e.g. SEND, EAL, SEMH)
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development

  • Have experience working with children or young people (ideally in a secondary school setting)
